Google Tag Manager

Add a GTM container to your published site.

Connect Google Tag Manager when you want one container to manage analytics, ads, conversion tags, and other marketing scripts on your published site.

Open the GTM dialog

1

Open Integrations

Go to

Settings

and choose

Integrations

.

2

Open Google Tag Manager

Configure your Container ID

  • Enter your Container ID (format: GTM-XXXXXXX).
  • Select Save to publish the container ID.
  • Use Verify to check the live HTML for the GTM install fragments.
  • Use Disconnect to remove the container.

When to use GTM

Use Google Tag Manager when:

  • You expect to add more tags over time.
  • A marketing partner manages tags without changing site code.
  • You want one container for analytics, ads, and conversion tracking.

If you only need basic Google Analytics page tracking, use Google Analytics (GA4) instead.

Notes

  • GTM is injected on published pages only, not inside the editor.
  • Verification checks the live site HTML. It does not confirm whether your GTM container is published or whether tags inside the container are firing.
  • If Google Analytics is also connected directly, make sure your GTM container does not send duplicate page views for the same property.
